LM International has joined the Millennium Water Alliance (MWA) as its 30th member organisation.
Founded in 2002, the Millennium Water Alliance is a global alliance of humanitarian, research and private-sector organisations working to advance water security and resilience worldwide. Through collective action, technical collaboration and strategic advocacy, MWA mobilises its members’ expertise to strengthen water systems and expand sustainable access to water.
MWA member organisations work in more than 100 countries and reach over 50 million people each year with water security and resilience programmes.
‘LM International’s expertise in some of the most difficult global conflict and climate contexts is increasingly valuable to MWA and its members now,’ said Keith Wright, Chief Executive Officer of the Millennium Water Alliance. ‘This will be a critical area for the sector moving forward. They are a key implementing partner with UNHCR, UNICEF and ECHO and also bring further perspective from a leading European organisation along with our other European-based members.’
Dr Josephine Sundqvist, Secretary-General and Global CEO of LM International, welcomed the partnership.
‘Grounded in our mission to save lives and empower people, LM International enters this partnership with a clear ambition: to scale our impact across the Sahel and Horn of Africa, regions facing growing water insecurity and climate pressures,’ she said.
‘No organisation can meet these challenges alone. Real transformation comes from joining other WASH innovators and humanitarian actors committed to resilience and locally-led change.’
‘We are proud to join the Millennium Water Alliance. Together, we can put community-led water resource management at the centre of global WASH efforts to strengthen systems, elevate local leadership and drive sustainable solutions that endure.’
